Surgery

On Monday our son is going in for eye surgery
This is Morgan’s third surgery since he was born 10 months ago. The thing I hate the most (besides sending him off with doctors to the O.R.) is sitting in the waiting room. There’s an errie quiet, you don’t want to talk, you don’t even want to think, you just want to see your kid safe and healthy.

Scott, you realize this is more traumatic for you and Jodi. That little trooper will be just fine. Morgan will never even remember any of this stuff. He is Baby Spectacular.

We are thinking of you today. I’ll try to call you later.

When he was little, my oldest son used to go into seizures when he had a severe fever. I remember a number of times in emergency rooms just feeling numb and hollow inside. I think the hardest part of being a parent are those times when you feel helpless.
It’ll pass. You’ll have the little guy back in your arms before you know it, and you can go back to changing diapers at 3:00 in the morning!
