As you’ve noticed I haven’t updated my blog in a few weeks.

On February 29 my pregnant wife started having contraction. This would not have been such a big deal if our sons due date wasn’t June 20th. The doctors did everything they could to keep our baby inside but on Monday March 3, Morgan Cole was born at 5:42am. He weighed 1 lb. 8 oz., 12 1/4 inches long, just a little guy. He’s doing well and will be in the hospital till around his original due date. Jodi and I are visiting him every chance we get and yesterday got to see him open his eyes for the first time!

So if my posts are a little sporadic over the next few months…it’s because I’m a DAD!!!

Our son is doing so well.

To quote the doctor yesterday, “He’s doing FABULOUS!” Keep up the good work Morgan.

It’s my birthday today and one of my presents was getting to watch Morgan get a bath by Jodi. It was the cutest thing…it’s funny to see someone so young LOVE being shampooed. Can’t wait to give him a bath myself. It was the best birthday present ever!

I thought I’d upload a few photos from my iphone. Morgan’s doing well – he’s still on the ventilator but Jodi and I are crossing our fingers that he’ll be off later this week.

This is my favorite photo. What do you think Morgan’s thinking?

We had a very exciting week. Morgan was moved into Room B on Thursday after being in Room A (the room for the sickest babies) for the past 2 months. Then on Friday we moved from an incubator to a bassinet. Then to our joy we moved to Room C this evening.

Babies go home from Room C.

Oh and did I mension that he’s off the ventilator?

Spectacular!

Jodi and had a great weekend with Morgan. My Mom came down from Canada to see him. Last time she saw him he wasn’t even 2lbs. She was pretty shocked to see a 5lbs baby.

Oh and did you notice, he’s starting to feed from a bottle?

Jodi shot a little video of Morgan on Friday. We wanted to share it with everyone.

Have a spectacular day.

Feeding Morgan

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Every night at 8:30 I have the great pleasure of feeding Morgan. Here is a clip from last night that I want to share with all my friends and family. If you listen closely you can hear his funny noises.

Have a spectacular weekend!

4 Months Old and More!

“I might be little but I think big”

img_0190.jpg

Today Morgan is 4 months old and yes he’s still in the hospital. He’s now 6lbs 12oz and growing like crazy. He’s doing great, he just needs to keep working on his stamina during feeding. We hope he’ll be home before he’s 5 months old, Go Morgan Go!

Also today I added a little more to my Help! drawing. I’ll be adding a few of Krista’s suggestion for tomorrow post

Home Time

Friday, July 11th, 2008

We just got the news Morgan’s coming home today. It’s just amazing to believe 4 and a half months ago he was 1lb 8oz. Today he weighs over 7 lbs! He’s been through so much over these past months. Jodi and I can’t believe what a strong little son we have.

We can’t even begin to express our gratitude to everyone at the Huntington Memorial Hospital, for saving Morgan’s life. You guys are our heros! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
